Notes: Murphy is a sweet and super-friendly Pomeranian that was born on 9/12/09. He's a little leggy and little larger than most Pomeranians so if you're looking for a "purse" dog, Murphy certainly isn't it. But, if you're looking for a little dog that's ALWAYS happy, never meets a stranger, and was born to love, Murphy's your guy! His former owner hated to give him up but severe health issues left her lacking the energy she needed to keep up with such a young pup. She told us that Murphy is crate- and house-trained (he goes to the door to let you know he needs a potty break), he knows the SIT and LIE DOWN commands, and will give you his paw when asked to do so. Although his former owner was in her 50's, Murphy appears to like children but, keep in mind, that a lot of Pomeranians tend to get nervous around unruly children. Murphy seems to like most dogs so he might do well in a multi-dog home. As is common with most Pomeranians, Murphy can be a little vocal so he's probably not a good choice if you live in an apartment or condo. Pomeranians are generally described as lively, boisterous, intelligent, eager to learn, very loyal, vigilant, and energetic dogs that are happy with short walks and play sessions but they can walk a longer distance without becoming tired. Most Poms seem to think they are much larger than they actually are and will not hesitate to protect themselves from much larger dogs if threatened. They are generally fairly easy to train and make delightful companions.
