His care at ACS –
Winston is another cat that was adopted from and later returned to ACS because his owner was no longer able to take care of Winston. The day after Winston was returned, a staff member noted that the once chunky cat was nothing but skin and bones and appeared to be in pain. Winston was rushed to the vet and just in the nick of time. The poor guy was dangerously close to renal failure and the vet explained that had we waited another day or two Winston would have died. His total expenses before being adopted by a volunteer were just under $1,000.
