Annual Yard Sale: June 6th, 7th, & 8th, 2014
The return of warm weather means chirping birds, blooming flowers, and the smell of steaks on the grill in the air. It also means it’s time to start Spring Cleaning! If you need a place to haul all those treasures in your garage, basement, and attic that you’ve finally decided you can live without, please consider dropping them off at The Animal Care Society, 12207 Westport Road. The shelter is currently taking donations for its upcoming Annual Yard Sale to be held June 6th, 7th, & 8th. Hundreds of people come from miles around to find great deals at bargain prices so your ‘trash’ just might be someone else’s ‘treasure!’ All we ask is that all donated items be clean, in working order, and have all their parts and pieces. We cannot accept TVs or computer monitors.
We will be collecting donations until mid May. Donations can be dropped off at ACS during the shelter’s hours of operation: Wednesdays and Thursdays, 11am-7pm; Fridays and Saturdays, 11am-5pm; and Sundays, 1pm-5pm. The shelter is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent of IRS laws and a donation slip will be provided upon request.
If you have a few hours here and there to spare over the next month, please consider volunteering some of your time at ACS. It takes dozens of volunteers hundreds of hours to sort and price items in preparation for this event so we can use all the help we can get! (Volunteers who want to assist only with the Yard Sale are not required to attend Orientation. To find out more about volunteering for the Yard Sale, just call the shelter at (502) 426-6303).
The Annual Yard Sale is one of the shelter’s biggest fundraisers and 100% of the proceeds go toward the daily care of the dogs and cats depending on ACS to give them a second chance at new loving homes. We hope we can count on your support! Put on your comfy shoes and your sun hat to sniff out the best bargains among the thousands of donated items. Our yard sale has it all; clothes, books, furniture, dog and cat items, toys, dishes and much, much more! And of course it’s all for a good cause, funding our no kill shelter!
